Cannibal Isles Snorkeling, Throwing Shade, Emirates to Colombia

Fiji’s remote former ‘Cannibal Isles’ are now a snorkeling paradise

A surprise awaited on a Fijian cruise as outlined recently in the Sydney Morning Herald. After snorkeling vibrant coral reefs, travelers relaxed on the luxurious Caledonian Sky, exploring hidden islands and learning about local culture. Days were filled with adventure, while serene evenings offered stunning island views. Familiar landscapes emerged – backdrops for famous movies! A traditional Fijian feast on Matacawalevu Village capped the trip, filled with delicious food, kava, and a heartwarming farewell performance. This wasn't just a vacation; it was an unforgettable Fijian experience.

Throwing Shade

In this day and age, consumers seem to put with a lot, and usually there isn’t a lot of recourse. A few weeks ago, a Reddit user, VictoriaEuphoria99, booked a hotel to witness the eclipse. However, the establishment probably noticed an increased demand in the area and canceled her reservation in what they called a “computer error,” but it seemed like an attempt at price gouging. The guest wasn’t happy with the attitude and noticed the hotel was suddenly available at a much higher price. Armed with that information, she had her friends book up the hotel, and all canceled right before the deadline, leaving the hotel scrambling with vacancies. While we generally don’t condone this behavior, we also come from the mindset that if you make a mistake, you absorb the expense for your clients.

Emirates launches Miami-Bogata

Emirates announced a daily flight between Miami International Airport and El Dorado International Airport in Bogotá, Colombia on June 3, 2024, EK213. The flight departs from Dubai at 2:15 AM and arrives in Miami at 10:05 AM, then departs at 12:35 AM and arrives in Bogotá at 3:25 PM. The flight is an extension of Emirates' existing daily service from Dubai to Miami, and provides a one-stop flight option from Dubai to Bogotá via Miami. The carrier has the rights to sell tickets between Miami and Bogata, providing a new option for travelers that ply the route.

FARE DEALS -

Once in a while, we’ll feature a fare deal we find too good to pass up. We aren’t affiliated with Secret Flying, but they’re great at finding deals. Like this one from Raleigh/Durham to San Juan, Puerto Rico for $180 Round Trip.
