And here we go...

A new adventure

In this first issue of Pacific.Tips, we will look at some of key stories that we are following around the region for you.

๐ŸŒŸ Air Asia launched this yearโ€™s ASEAN pass. The deal offers Unlimited Zero Base fare on selected flights. This is a great deal if you have a flexible schedule. For fun, we tried to book a flight from Manila to Kuala Lumpur on October 1, with the pass the all in fare with fees, check bag, seat and a meal was PHP3296/US$59 without the pack is PHP5045/$90. This means youโ€™d need three round trips to recover your money assuming youโ€™re saving around $40 a flight. If you fly a lot, itโ€™s worth it, but the key to making it work is advanced planning and flexibility.

Prices here are as of March 24, 2024 and subject to change.

๐ŸŒŸ While a ski โ›ท๏ธ holiday may not be the first thing to comes to mind this summer, Brigid Mander from the Wall Street Journal found seven resorts in South America that will allow skiers to hit the slopes during the North American summer. Travelers can discover airline bargains to Santiago or Buenos Aires, rendering the cost of travel for Americans akin to skiing in Europe or popular destinations in the U.S. such as Aspen or Jackson Hole during peak seasons. Prime snow conditions typically prevail from July to early September. The majority of flights involve overnight travel, departing from major U.S. hubs in the late evening and arriving in the morning. Jet lag isn't a significant concern for most travelers from the northern regions, as only a few hours separate Chile and Argentina from New York time.
