Hope you are having a great weekend, we have a few great things to share with you.

British Airways announces Status Match for residents of the US and Canada.

Residents of the US and Canada with elite status on select airlines (American Airlines, Alaska Airlines, etc.) can quickly achieve British Airways elite status through their status match offer. This elite status comes with perks like free checked bags, priority boarding, and airport lounge access. Apply online by providing your contact and current airline elite info. If approved, enjoy the benefits for 6 months, then complete 2 qualifying transatlantic flights within 6 months to maintain it for another year. Remember, switching your address to qualify is not recommended.

San Francisco sues Oakland over proposed airport name change.

Oakland wants to rename the airport to San Francisco Bay Oakland International Airport, but San Francisco argues that this infringes on their trademark and will need to be clarified for travelers. Oakland says the new name benefits the whole Bay Area and denies any infringement. The two cities can't agree and San Francisco is suing to block the name change. Many San Francisco residents feel their city should instead be focused on reviving its (now quiet) downtown district.
